BOOK REVIEW ~ Cleaning House

Cleaning House by Kay Wyma is probably one of the best books for parents of teens that I have read!  Kay has taken 12 tasks that she needed to work on in her home (and we did to - and you probably will also!) and broken them down to work on them with her children.  The tasks reach above and beyond the simple helping around the house with the chores - those things are included, but there is so much more!  Outdoor chores, home repair and maintenance  getting a job, being a host and just getting along with people in life in general!

I have read through the book, and I am going back over it and starting the new year off with Task One: Operation Clutter Control.  I loved the incentives she has listed and plan to implement the jar of ones for my kiddos!  Want to know what I am talking about? Read Chapter One

  1. I am so glad to have come across this review! My husband and I were talking just last night about how our kids just expect that dishes get done, clothes get washed, rooms get cleaned, yet they don't think they should have to contribute. It's our fault for not teaching them, but we're ready to teach them! I'm going to order a copy of this book right now!

    1. Wendy - I am starting with them the first of the year with the first task! I think taking it step by step will make them realize it's not that much, really!!
