The boxes are coming!! The boxes are coming!!

I spent last Friday online ordering everything that we need for next year and I expected to get thru this week before I started seeing them come in - but one came today!!!Funny thing was -it was the one that I chose to come media mail - I figured it would be a while before we saw it -and it was the first one!!

I have my planner all set and ready to go - and I have already started using it - the thing I have here that I want to do next year- I already have them planned out. I am going to try really hard to plan them as they come in, that way by the time they all get here, I should be close to being finished for next year!

My Story of the World volume 2 came in today -I flipped thru it and figured out what chapters to do when - there are 42 chapters and I have 36 weeks, so I figured that out - got the activity book in a binder and in order and I am about to start flipping thru and putting what we are going to do in my lesson plan book - along with the list of go-alongs to check at the library - and what supplies I will need for the activities.

I have a small (5x7 size) 3 subject notebook and I have each section labeled with Weeks 1-36. The first section I make my library list, it includes any of the go-alongs that are listed with a curriculum, and a list of topics covered for that week. I use it a couple of weeks before to reserve books that I know the title of from the library, and I also take it with me to browse thru the subjects covered that our library actually has. (Our Library system has 14 different branches that I can reserve books from -so that is why I reserve some. The topics covered - I usually just browse what is available at the one we happen to be at).  In the second section - I start a supplies needed list for any odd supplies that we may need for any project (recipe) that we are going to do. The third section -I start a list of things that I need to do before we get to that week- print off, make copies, cut out anything before hand.  I have done this the past 2 years and it has helped tremendously!!  I will also add things that are needed in all three areas for co-op, brownies - whatever else is going on. It is small enough that I can take it with me in the stores and library and such.

Well, I am going to see if I can get a couple of weeks of history planned before I go to bed.
