Join in the read aloud challenge over at Footprints in the Butter! This is our 3rd or 4th week joining in, sometimes we do good, other times, not so much!
I think we did pretty OK this week! We are still learning about the Civil War so we have had tons of books on that study!
We are still (slowly) working our way through Little House on the Prairie, I think we are on chapter 6 or 7. We are on chapter 4 of Get On Board.
I also read Follow the Drinking Gourd, Abe Lincoln's Hat, Abe Lincoln The Boy Who Loved Books.
My hope is to finish up Little House on the Prairie this next week so we can start Farmer Boy. (It was on one list I found for Civil War - so perfect timing!)
We are studying Little House on the Prairie right now, too. We finished Little House in the Big Woods. So many fun things to do along with it. We haven't planned any field trips yet, but are using lots of internet resources and free downloadable lapbooks.

ReplyDeleteIt seems that there was a Reading Rainbow episode on Follow the Drinking Gourd that was really excellent. Maybe your library has that?
