30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 3 - Your First Love

My first love...still my love!

I didn't date in high school - just no one really caught my eye.  I joined the volunteer fire department when I was 16 and became *one of the guys*.  There were a couple of us that hung out with the group of guys that were at the station...everyone was just friends.

One of  the guys was injured in an accident and he was in the hospital for a while.  When he finally got to rehab, I wanted to go visit him, but not alone.  Roger and I started going to visit and hang out with him 2-3 nights a week.  Sometimes others would go with us, but usually it was just the two of us.  Spending that much time together, our friendship developed in to more.

We dated on and off for four years before we got married.  We have been married 14 years this month and have been through a lot together.  The *happiness is being married to your best friend* statement is true for this house!
