International Firefighter Day

First Sunday in May is International Firefighter Day.  Our local Volunteer Fire Department held it's Annual Open House in conjunction with IFFD this year.  While it wasn't as big as it has been in the past, it still turned out great and we had a lot of fun. We started at noon with a 30 second sound off of the siren in honor of the fallen firefighters, followed by 1 minute of silence. Then on to the fun, food and games! One thing that they did this year, that was a total accident, but had the visitors rolling with laughter, as well as the rest of us -a few firefighters decided to race into full gear!  We made note of it for next year! Here are a few shots from the day.
