CREW: Scruble Cube

Photobucket
When this came up as an option to review, I had the kiddos come watch the video.  They were pretty excited about it, because it looks pretty cool!

They waited (not so) patiently for it to come in and were disappointed that it came when we were headed out the door to Wednesday night church.  Once they got in, they insisted that we open it.  So, they played around with it while I read the directions and then there was an immediate match!

The kiddos do pretty good with it.  It is a little hard to turn and I get the impression that we need to be careful with it, but I do think it will loosen up after a while.  Just playing around with it, it is pretty easy to make some words - even some high point words... but when that timer is ticking... it puts the pressure on!  We have played with it both ways - a true game, with timer and score and all & we take it with us on our music lessons day and have them take turns finding their spelling words. We were also sent a list of curriculum ideas.  In addition to the spelling, each letter has a point value, so there are some really good math lessons there also!  One other lesson plan that we didn't attempt yet was finding the elements from the scientific table and adding up their point value. Lots of learning all the way around!

(I had some pictures of them playing, but they are gone!  They were on my phone, but I can't find them on the computer).

Scruble Cube is available at ScrubleCube.com for $24.95. Age limit - if you can spell, you can play!

  1. Oh, I just hate when photos disappear!

We tend to do the more relaxed playing here. The timer adds too much stress for my kids. And me. I freeze up with it going too, LOL!

  2. What a great idea to have the kiddos watch the video first!
