The US is a Battlefield

In our Civil War studies, we have been using our large US map.  We already had it marked with the 13 original colonies from last year.  The kiddos spent one morning marking the Union and Confederate states, and they have referred to the map several times during the study to be able to place themselves where they need to be.

A few days later, we were reading about the different battles and decided to mark the battlefields with stars - with appropriate colored wins (green was a draw and red was an American victory in another war that we were not studying, but still ended up talking about!)

The kiddos are excited to see what else our American History Study holds, because coloring on the wall is always fun!
