Timberdoodle: Critical Thinking Press

Timberdoodle contacted me about reviewing some of their workbooks.  Critical Thinking Press is a great site to check out if you are looking for some supplemental homeschool supplies or homeschool curriculum.

We received two different books for the kiddos to work in and review.

The first one was Building Thinking Skills I.   It is for 2-4th grade level and since we are 5th, it was a little basic for them, but they still are enjoying it.  It is considered a freebie when they are waiting on the other to finish their work so we can move on together. Between the two of them, they are about 1/3 of the way through it and are enjoying it, even though they should be using the next level.

The other book we received was Word Roots A1.  We haven't really ever spent much time on vocabualry.  We used another that we were reviewing back some time ago and we liked it, it just got pushed to the back.  We are using Word Roots as part of our daily work (along with a few games).  The kiddos are semi-enjoying this, but they are learning roots, prefixes and suffixes - better than the grammar program has taught them.  Once we finish this level, we will look into ordering the next level from Critical Thinking.

So, like I said, if you are looking for some supplemental materials, check out Critical Thinking Press! You can get a free homeschool catalog from them (click that link!)
