Our dog 'Dink' passed away sometime last night or this morning. He was 9 years old and has been in bad health for a while. We have been expecting it, but it was still hard. The kiddos are very sad about it, but they helped us dig a hole and bury him. I printed this picture off for both of them and they have both made a frame and have it in their rooms so they don't forget him.

ReplyDeleteWe recently had to put our 18 yo cat to sleep. It is never easy losing a pet.
I'm so sorry to hear this. We had a dog that looked like yours named Pongo. We had to give him to my inlaws who live in the country because he wouldn't stay in the fence and needed a place to run. Praying that your hearts will heal quickly.

I'm so sorry. These sweet pets of ours become so much a part of our family.When they die, it's like a part of the family is missing. We lost our dog last summer, our daughter was 5 then. We buried him in our backyard and she said a little prayer. I'm sure they will have many good memories. And if they're like my daughter, they will talk about him all the time.
ReplyDeleteIt is saddening to hear of your loss! I dread when that day will come for our cat & dog. The kids will be so devastated. THey have both grown up with the dog (we got him 1 month before DS was born) and the cat belongs to DD and loves him so much no matter what he does! Praying for you all!

ReplyDeleteDink had such a noble face. I'm so sorry for your loss. We also have a black lab who's 9 years old named Shadow. Shadow has an 11 year old sister named Maggie. Losing pets is like losing part of the family, and it's hard to prepare for something like this. We've always had backyard funerals for our pets which is helpful for the kiddos.
