Normal Wednesday and Stormy Thursday

Wednesday was full of most of our normal runnings... except we had to go to LR for a follow-up on my pre-screen - it was to check the TB test.  All is well so far! Now we wait for the 10 or so days for the rest of the test to come back to see if I qualify - 5 of those days have passed, so hopefully I will hear from them at the latest - a week from this next Monday.  Follow with piano, voice, guitar and church...

Thursday, we did some catching up from our crazy week!  We spent ALL day doing school work - down to finishing history in the hall with our pillows because the tornado sirens were going off - when I should have been cooking dinner... we canceled girl scouts due to the weather and several girls being out - dinner happened later, after history was done and the storms were over!

Riley and Roger spent the evening preparing for his hike/camp-out.  Samantha and I spent the evening delivering GS cookies!

First *Boy Scout* meeting

Well, Riley had his first Boy Scout meeting tonight... they do thing different than the cubs, that's for sure!  In fact, I think I may change up a few thing with my GS troop...

Riley really enjoyed the meeting - because they were doing last minute prep for his very first hike/campout!  He camp home with a list of stuff that he needed to pack and to do. He seems pretty excited about it, so we shall see how being a Boy Scout will do!!

Where did Monday go??

Roger was off today, we got up and made the cinnamon roll... it turned out OK...next time I will just use my recipe and roll it large like that & try that..(please ignore where it started to *over-cook* and of course, please ignore my old pan - it was my grandma & grandpa's).

After breakfast, Rog went out to do some stuff on the house, the kiddos and I got started on school work.  Here is what happened from 10-12noon.  I spoke with the lady about my pre-screen for the drug study about 6 times, another leader stopped by to trade out some cookies, two different moms in my troop stopped by to pick up more cookies, the o2 man came to switch bottles, Rog's dad came over AND we got most of our school work done!  I had to leave at 1pm to go to the doc to start my pre-screen and didn't get done there until after 5pm.

I met Roger and the kiddos at the fire station and delivered cookies down there.  We had some kiddo issue, so we came home and they went to bed - Rog and his buddies went to get ice cream... kiddos were sad, but that is what happens.

Busy, yet successful Sunday

Church this morning...with my new nasal accessory... good message this morning.  Samantha and I came home and finished sorting cookies... we had some help from our BFF's and got all of our sorted, then all for the booth loaded and the girls made some posters for the booth.  We are going to enter it in a *bling your booth* contest.  We had five girls show up, and two other parents - I sent one of the moms and two of the girls down to the side of the road to advertise and the rest stayed at Gadwalls.  We did pretty good considering the location we were in!  Afterwards...dinner at mom and dad's... and some fun times!

I am up catching up on my blog, while I wait for THIS to mix in my bread machine, so I can swirl it up and put it in the  fridge!! After that... I am headed to BED!

and on to Boy Scouts...

With the exceptions of of a few minutes of baseball tryouts, we spent the day at scouts... Riley bridged from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts...

He also earned his Arrow of Light pin:

He also was awarded several other awards that he had earned this past year:

He was the only one in his pack that had earned the Religous Knot patch, we are checking into having a presentation at our church and getting him pinned with the pin, instead of just the patch!

Friday at the Fire Station...

Today something that has been in the works for 2+ years came to be...

Our new sign was installed!!

It was quite a process...we had to take the old sign down and get it out of the way:
in the process, they broke a saw blade:

took plenty of them, but they got it down...

There was just blankness while we waited for the new sign to show...
It's HEeeeeeeReeee...

And after much work and a little bit of nervousness- it is up:

We would like to thank Phil for the awesome work on the sign...

and once again...here is the finished product:

Girl Scout Cookie Time!

Today was focused solely on GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!  The truck delivered 3,700+ boxes to our service unit.  They had to be unloaded off the truck, sorted by cookie, counted, sorted by troop, counted, sorted by parent and counted again!!  Takes a while, but we had it down pat this year and the work went smoothly!  One of the leader's in the area works for the local paper - and her hubby is a photographer - so they were both there - HERE- is a link to some of the pictures that were taken.

Once I got home and got things unloaded from my car - well, I didn't do it, but the kiddos and another mom helped me - the company brought me oxygen... yep - 24/7 until the newest/latest pulmanologist can figure out what is going on with me. It will be an interesting change in my life, but if it works, then hey! I'm all for it! We shall see...

I rushed the o2 man out the door in time for me to barely make it to church!  We are in the middle of a series about Current Events & End Times and how it relates to the Bible.  Been very interesting...I'm learning a lot... mostly about current events- tonight during the service, he focused on the events, not so much Bible verses... I am really enjoying learning.

How exhausting...

I spent the entire day at the doctor...  My original appointment was for 9:15.  They called me Monday and wanted me there at 8:00am to do a few tests before the doctor saw me.  I was at the actual doctors office until about 11:15 - then I went to the hospital for some tests.  I was there until 2:45.. UGH!  That will wear you out!

The good news is I do not have blood clots. The bad news- I am on continuous oxygen until she figures out what is going on...  Will be interesting to see how that works...

Ry's scout group went to the skating rink for their final *cub* meeting!  Here are few shots that Roger took at the rink. (Samantha and I stayed home - since he never gets to go to her Girl Scout events).

Happy *I Love You* day~

Today was crazy/busy... we got up and going this morning and took Samantha to speech.  While she was there, Ry and I ran to the post office, dropped some things in the mail - one had be there OVERNIGHT! After we picked Sam up, we knocked out a few thing for school and grabbed a bite to eat and headed out for the HS Valentine's Party!  We made bags, had some snacks, played outside - the weather was AWESOME! and then passed out our valentines...after that was more outside time...

Here are a few of the girls *hanging out*:

And the boys were moving too fast to get many pics of them:

After the party, we finished up school work and I had to meet someone at the fire station - new sign coming THIS WEEK!! Had a few things to wrap up there...

Got an email this afternoon saying that Rog would be recognized at a Rotary Club Luncheon for an award presented by LRFD Awards Committee for FF of the month, August 2010!!  SO proud of him!

Chicken pot pie for dinner and then to bed at an early/decent time - busy day tomorrow!!

(and with this post, I think I am caught up and should be able to be back on track!)

Riley's turn in the water...

Two weeks ago, Riley came forward at the end of our Wednesday night service and told Brother Paul he was ready to be baptized.  They talked for a while, then we set the date for when Roger was able to join us.

He was so nervous!  He asked me so many questions the days before, even right up until Brother Paul called him into the water...
